Wayne Kirkpatrick

Wayne Kirkpatrick, age 57, of York, NE died Saturday, May 4, 2019. He was born May 9, 1961 in Los Angeles, CA to Ben F. and Ann (Collins) Kirkpatrick. Wayne was proud to serve his country in the National Guard during Operation Desert Storm, and Desert Shield. Wayne was a member of the 82nd Airborne Ranger Battalion. He worked several jobs during his life, which include: Truck Driver, construction worker, welder, working for Metal Tech Partners and Champion Home Builders. He was a member of the NRA, American Legion Bolton Post #19 and VFW.  On November 16, 2001 Wayne was married to Julie Loecker in York.

Wayne loved to hunt and fish. He was known for his good cooking, watching western movies, and loving his best friend, his dog Boo. But he will be most remembered for his love for his family and his country.

He is survived by his wife Julie of York, daughters Renee Kirkpatrick of Elgin, NE, and Nicole “Nikki” (David) Gill of Lincoln; grandchildren include: Kaden, Tyleigh, Kolby, Wyatt and Keagan Kirkpatrick. He is also survived by his parents, Ben and Ann Kirkpatrick of York, along with his uncle and aunt John and Kathleen Collins, of Spring Lake, NC, cousin Raymond (Donna) Collins of Fairmont, NE, and their children Hailey and Ray Jr., and Raymond’s son Braydon.

He is also survived by 10 sisters and brothers-in-law, along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents-in-law, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church in York with The Reverend Sue Babovec officiating. Interment to follow at the Greenwood Cemetery, York. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday and 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM Wednesday at the mortuary in York, with his family greeting friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening. Memorials may be directed to York Adopt-A-Pet and Blue Valley Community Action of York.
