Wanda 'Yvonne' Orlando
Wanda “Yvonne” Orlando, age 87 of York, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2014 at York. She was born March 31, 1927 at Polk to William Floyd and Luella (Stears) Cohagan.
On June 14, 1944 she was married to Salvatore “Sal” Orlando at York. Yvonne loved gardening and flowers, as her rose garden was her pride and joy. She enjoyed going out for Chinese food, camping, her Atlanta Braves Baseball team, was an avid reader, and a true Husker football fan. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda (Jim) Hoover of York and her son Bob (Deb) Orlando of Bradshaw; grandchildren, Travis (Diane) Hoover, Dallas (Kris) Hoover, Stacey (Star) Orlando and Deanna Orlando; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her siblings, Virgil (Arlene) Cohagan of Elm Creek, Marlon “Mugs” (Nancy) Cohagan of McCool Jct., Loree (Arlo) Irmer of Pottsville, Ark., and Karen (Larry) Doran of McCool Jct.; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 at the Metz Chapel in York. Burial will follow at Arborville Cemetery near Polk. Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 2 from noon - 9 p.m. with her family greeting friends that evening from 7-8:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the family.
