Viola Hoeft
Viola “Vi” June Hoeft, age 90 of Henderson, NE, formerly York, NE, died Friday, February 18, 2022 in Henderson. She was born on June 27, 1931 to Ralph and Mary (Smith) Schall in Bradshaw, NE. On April 16, 1949, she was united in marriage to Marold (Bud) Hoeft in York.
Vi was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in York. She worked at the egg plant, Tropholtz Bakery, Gambles and at the York Hearthstone overseeing the laundry department.
She was a Cornhusker fan, enjoyed making crafts, camping and spending the winters in Corpus Christi, TX with special friends. Vi especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Vi is survived by her son Ronald (Pam) Hoeft of York, her daughter Jamie Lilleholm of Lincoln, NE, grandchildren Sheri (Wayne) Kearney of St. Louis, MO, Mike Torgerson (Whitney) of Glendive, MT, Larry and Lauren Kroeker of Lincoln, NE, Brandon Hoeft of Omaha, NE, Justin and Brittney Hoeft of Omaha, NE, Michelle and Julian Harding of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren and two more on the way, one great-great-grandchild, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Vi was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marold (Bud), her son Tim, her siblings Ralph Jr and wife Cha Schall, Walter and wife Karen Schall, Larry and wife Phyllis Schall, Arthur and wife Sue Schall, Rosie and husband Harlin Linder, Shirley and husband Bob Renoad, infant sister Patty and friend Bonnie Newton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church in York, NE with the Reverend Trudy Hanke officiating. Burial will follow in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, with her family greeting friends from 6-7:30 p.m., that same evening at the mortuary in York. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, the First United Methodist Church, or to the donor’s choice.
