Thomas Snider
Thomas “Tom” E. Snider, age 77 of McCool Junction, NE died Monday, January 4, 2021 at Lincoln, NE. He was born February 4, 1943 in rural Lushton, NE to Alfred and Keitha (Van Patten) Snider. Tom graduated from Fairmont High School and then on June 23, 1961 he was married to Sandra Trauernicht at Fairmont. He was then employed at Plains Power and Equipment in York, farmed on his own, and worked with his brother Earl in their mechanic’s shop. Tom was a member of the York Elk’s Club, enjoyed playing and coaching softball, hunting, fishing and being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son Tom (Greisy) Snider and his daughter Sheri (Gaylord) Lambrecht all of McCool Jct, and special friends Kevin (Karen) Bellows also of McCool Jct. He is also survived by his grandchildren Naomi Snider, Makayla Snider both of McCool Jct, Heather (Ryan) Linden of York, Matt Smith of McCool Jct, Carl (Anna) Lambrecht of Nuremberg, Germany and Noah Lambrecht of McCool Jct. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and his brothers-in-law Ron Merkel of Omaha, NE, and Dale Trauernicht of Mitchell, NE, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Earl and Ted and his sisters Joan, Judy and June Faye.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Metz Chapel in York. Interment will follow in the Grafton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the mortuary in York. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. His funeral will be live streamed on Metz Mortuary’s Facebook page just prior to services.
COVID 19 Funeral Guidelines will be implemented with limited spaced seating (75% occupancy), 6 feet of separation between household units and masks required.
