Ted Norquest
Ted L. Norquest, age 88 of McCool Junction, NE died Monday, August 24, 2020 at Lincoln, NE. He was born December 14, 1931 to Paul and Mildred (Ruch) Norquest in York. Ted served his country as a member of the Unites States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Lois Holoch on February 3, 1952 at McCool Jct. Ted was a lifelong farmer and sold and enjoyed working on tractors. He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, McCool and enjoyed his family and following his grandchildren’s activities.
Ted is survived by his daughter Denise (Wayne) Gruber of Waco, daughter-in-law Brenda Norquest of McCool Jct., grandchildren: Emily (Ross) Athey of Seward, Luke Norquest and special friend Hannah Skibstead of Clay Center, Zach (Danielle) Gruber of Waco, and Clint Gruber of Waco; and great grandchildren: Jack Jensen and Archer Athey of Seward and Scarlett Gruber and Alice Gruber of Waco. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Bob, and brother Bryce.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Friday, August 28, 2020 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, McCool Junction. Burial with military honors will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, York. COVID 19 Funeral Guidelines will be implemented with social distancing and masks encouraged. Visitation will be held from 1-8pm on Thursday. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
