Sidney Johnson age 75 of York, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014 in Lincoln.
He was born April 23, 1938 at Osceola to Helen Sargent and Floyd Johnson. Sidney and Pauline Nedrig were united in marriage on March 14, 1964 at Palmer. They farmed in the York area until Sidney’s retirement. Sidney had a large collection of toy tractors and enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline of York; son, Gregg (Julie) Johnson of York; daughter, Linda (Tim) Sackschewsky of Seward; grandchildren, Leah, Alec and Owen Sackschewsky of Seward, Kendra Johnson of York and Sidney Crane of York. Also surviving are his mother, Helen Johnson of York and brother Lanny Johnson of York. Preceding him in death were his father; granddaughter, Eve Sackschewsky and sister-in-law Marilyn Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York, with the Reverend Mike Neidow officiating. Sidney will be cremated following the service and private graveside services will be at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery, York. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m.
Friday at the mortuary with the family greeting friends from 6-7:30 p.m. that evening. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
