Sandi Marie Bethune, age 71 of York, NE, died Sunday, August 15, 2021 in Lincoln, NE. Sandi was born on September 3, 1949 to Norvin and Evelyn (Saathoff) Kinnaman in Orleans, NE. On May 26, 1968, she was united in marriage to Merle Bethune in York. Together they owned Bethune Construction.
Sandi was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York, where she had taught Sunday School and was also a member of LWML. She enjoyed camping and fishing, baking, and canning tomatoes. Most of all, she loved her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Merle of York, son Paul (Jacque) Bethune of York, son Craig Bethune (Tanya Potthoff) of Mc Cool Junction, grandchildren: Nick, Cameron (Madison Haines), Rheagan, Kinsleigh, and Ayden, sister-in-law Alice (Tom) Townsend of Grand Island, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, mother in law Clara Bethune, father in law Lester Bethune, sister Joyce (Byron) Lawrence and brothers-in-law Don Bethune, Bob (Linda) Bethune, and Roy (Cindy) Bethune.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am, Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, York with the Reverends Mike Neidow and Ben Kaiser officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, York. Visitation will be held from 1-8pm Friday, with family greeting friends from 6pm-8pm that evening, all at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
