Roy McLain
Roy E. McLain, age 92 of Lincoln, NE, formerly York, NE died, Saturday, December 15, 2018 at his home. He was born on April 4, 1926 to Albert and Odelia (Dietrich) McLain at York, NE. Roy graduated from York High School and served his country as a member of the United States Army from November 28, 1950 – November 13, 1952. On April 11, 1959 he was married to Rosalie Billesbach at York. He was a longtime York County farmer and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, York. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the York American Legion Bolton Post #19.
He is survived by his wife Rosalie of Lincoln, sons Michael (Sue) McLain of Beatrice, NE and Scott (Denise) McLain of Lincoln, and his daughter Kathy (John) Launder of Fayetteville, AR, nine grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister Maxine (Winton) Wright of Benedict, NE; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lori, and brothers: Lloyd, Kenneth, and Merle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 20, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, York with Monsignor James Reinert officiating. Burial with military honors will be held following the Mass at St. Joseph Cemetery, York. A rosary will be said at 6:30 PM, Wednesday at the mortuary. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 pm on Wednesday with his family visiting friends one hour prior and following the Rosary service at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic School.
