Roger Kaiser
Roger L. Kaiser, formerly of Bradshaw, passed away Friday, Oct. 15, at the age of 85 in Prescott, Ariz. He was born to Herman and Erna (Opfer) Kaiser in rural York County. He was the youngest of four children. He attended Shiloh School and Zion Lutheran School. He graduated from Bradshaw High School in 1953. Following graduation, he enlisted in the Army and served a tour of duty in Korea. He attended Kearney State College. He was united in marriage to Virginia I. Medow in 1957. They were blessed with four children, Sandra, Sharon, Gary, and Susan.
Roger returned home to join the family farm operation north of Bradshaw. He served on the NRD board. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with family and friends. He served in various leadership positions at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Hampton. He retired to Arizona where he enjoyed golf, bridge and volunteering at church. He married Kathleen Kemper in the fall of 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen of Prescott, Ariz. and children, Sandra (Mark) Hannemann of Omaha, Sharon (Dan) Zierott of Bradshaw, Gary (Glenda) Kaiser of York and Susan Tonniges of Kearney. He is further survived by 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; his parents, Herman and Erna Kaiser; his step-mother, Stella (Stettner) Kaiser; sister, Velva; brothers, Darrell and Roy; son-in-law, Rod Tonniges and grandson, Kyle Zierott.
Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 am, Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church, Hampton, NE. Inurnment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. Roger has been cremated. No viewing or visitation. The family will greet friends one hour prior to services. Memorials may be directed to the family.
