Robert Lee Siebert

Robert Lee Siebert, age 91, of Henderson, NE, died Monday, July 19, 2021 at Henderson. He was born May 17, 1930 in rural Lushton, NE to John C. and “Minnie” (Friesen) Siebert. On March 20, 1949, he was united in marriage to Helen Friesen in Henderson. Robert farmed in the Henderson and Holdrege areas all of his life. Robert was a member of Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson.

Robert loved farming, having coffee with his friends, playing dominoes and golfing. He served as a former mayor of Henderson. Robert also owned a fertilizer plant, Western P.V. & Gas Company.  

He is survived by his sons Dale (Lennett) Siebert of Lushton, Lester (Jean) Siebert of York, Ron (Kathy) Siebert of Henderson, and Leo (Susan) Siebert of Grafton. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; brothers Marvin (Katherine) Siebert, Carl Siebert, Roger (Arlyce) Siebert, all of Henderson, sisters Velma (Phillip) Kroeker, of Upland, Indiana, and LeAnn (Jerry) Kroeker of Henderson, along with his special friend Norma Stutzman of Friend, NE, along with the Stutzman Family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son John, grandson Zachary. Sisters and brothers-in-law Lillian and Cornelius Mierau, and Viola and Alvin Friesen, sisters-in-law Cora Siebert and Dinah Siebert.

Graveside services will be held at 9:45 am, Monday, July 26, 2021 at the Bethesda Mennonite Cemetery north of Henderson with the Reverends Seth Miller and Chelsea Vaught officiating. A memorial service will then follow at the Bethesda Mennonite Church at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 9:00 p.m., Sunday with his family greeting friends between 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., that same evening at the mortuary in Henderson. Memorials may be directed to the Bethesda Mennonite Church.
