Miriam Quiring
Miriam R. Quiring, age 88, of Aurora, NE, died Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Aurora, NE. She was born August 13, 1930 in rural Henderson, NE to Abraham H. and Elizabeth (Braun) Regier. Miriam attended school and graduated from Henderson High School in 1948. She then attended York College, and taught country school near Henderson.
Miriam accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at a young age and was a life-long member of the Mennonite Brethren Church, where she taught Sunday school Bible School, sang in the choir and several small groups. On August 6, 1950, she was united in marriage to Henry H. Quiring. They farmed in the Hampton and Henderson area. Henry passed away on April 8, 2016.
Those left to cherish Miriam’s memory are her daughters, Connie (Marion) Travis of Lincoln, NE, Joyce Nielsen of Aurora, NE, and Gaylene (Nick) Grosshans of Aurora, NE. Her grandchildren include: Brandon (Tanya) Grosshans, Carrie (Mike) Crosby, Darrin Grosshans, and Katie Travis; great-grandchildren, Abbigale, Levi, Luke, and Eli Grosshans, and Kaylee and Kayden Crosby, and Noah Anderson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Rosella Harvey Friesen.
Private graveside service. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:30 AM Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the Mennonite Brethren Church, Henderson with the Reverend Luke Haidle officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 1:00 – 9:00 PM Wednesday, May 29, with the family greeting friends between 7:00 – 8:30 PM Wednesday evening at the mortuary in Henderson. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
