Mary Martin, age 74 of York, NE, died Tuesday, November 30, 2021 in York. Mary was born on May 30, 1947 to Ervin and Louise (Alley) Wendt in Kansas. On October 9, 1970, she was united in marriage to Billy Gene Martin in Miami, OK. Mary was a CNA and worked for twenty years at the Hearthstone in York and worked for seventeen years at the Utica Community Care Center in Utica, NE. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son Dean (Kileen) Martin of Atkins, IA, her daughter LaVonne (Dr. Mark) Brouillette of Gilbert, AZ, grandchild Jordan Martin of Atkins, IA, her brother Donald (Peggy) Wendt and sister-in-law Joan Wendt all of Topeka, KS. She is also survived by special friends John, Kelly and Presley Taylor of York, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, special friend Raymond Zimmerman, brothers Raymond and Herschell, sister Betty and grandson Blake.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Mary has been cremated. No viewing or visitation. Memorials may be directed to York Adopt-A-Pet.
