Lowell H. Popp
Lowell H. Popp, age 93, of York, NE died Friday, September 14, 2018 at York, NE. He was born April 28, 1925 in Durham, Kansas to Arthur and Sarah (Miller) Popp. Lowell married Elfriede Henss in 1965, and on November 15, 1967 their son, Arthur, was born. Lowell started elementary school in Durham. His eye sight gradually deteriorated and in December of 1941 he entered the school for the Blind in Nebraska City, NE. While there, he learned to tune pianos, and after graduating in May of 1950, he started his business of piano tuning in York and the surrounding areas.
Lowell’s faith in the Lord kept him strong. He was loved and respected by all who knew him.
He is survived by his son Arthur Popp, grandchildren Vaughn Popp & Charlotte Popp of Costa Mesa, CA, sister Velma Dudeck & nephew David Dudeck of Oregon, MO, nephew Dan Dudeck of Savannah, MO, niece Ruth Johnson of Mound City, MO, and his wife’s family all of Germany.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a nephew, and a brother-in-law.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Metz Chapel in York. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, York. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to the American Council for the Blind, or to the donor’s choice.
