Lorraine Burhoop
Lorraine M. Burhoop, age 82, of York, died Thursday, November 8, 2012 at York.  She was born October 19, 1930 at Loup City, Ne to Eddie and Theresa (Kowalski) Mazankowski.  She was united in marriage to William R. Burhoop on October 22, 1950 in Arkansas.  Lorraine worked as a waitress in several restaurants including the Elk’s, Stockman’s, Legion, and Reed’s Café.  She enjoyed gardening and was a fantastic cook. 

​Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Ralph Burhoop of York and his ex-wife Gay Chambers of Omaha, and John Burhoop of Benedict, NE;  two daughters, Toby and husband Bill Kauffman of York, and Diane Lemke of Bennett, NE.
Grandchildren include, Nicci and husband Kevin Lawrence of York, Phillip Burhoop and wife Jenny of Savanah, MO, Amanda and husband David Templeton of Bremerton, WA, Brian Burhoop of Omaha, NE, Gus Burhoop and wife Candy of Wayne, NE, Amber Lemke of Bennet, Ashley and husband D.J Wagner of New Oxford, PA, Robert Lemke of Bennet, and Anna Burhoop of York.

Lorraine also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren, Dalton, Madi, Levi, Alex, Knicholaus, Jamie, Karri, and Johnathon Henry; one sister Mary and husband Jim Byrd of Gautier, MS; and one brother-in-law John Summers of York; sisters-in-law Grace Bondegard of York and Helen Tripplet from Arizona.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, granddaughter Jennifer, two infant brothers, brothers Lawrence and Floyd, twin sister Delores, and son-in-law John Lemke.

Lorraine has chosen to be cremated with no public services.  Private inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
