Lori Kay Gardner age 61 of York Nebraska died peacefully on Tuesday February 2, 2021 surrounded by family in Osceola Nebraska. She was born September 7, 1959 in York to Bill and Marlene (Peeks) Gardner.
Lori is survived by her three daughters: Amy (husband, Judson Robertson) of Lakewood CO, Lyndi Peterson of Thornton CO, and Melanie Blake of Tempe AZ. Grandchildren: Juliana Robertson, Landyn, Sayla, and Ava Peterson. Brothers: Tim (wife, Jean) Gardner of York NE, Todd Gardner of York NE, Kent and (wife, Janet) Gardner of Fayetteville AR. Aunt Shirley (husband, Cyrill) Rhodes of Gresham NE. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Lori was united in marriage June 30, 1978 to Tim Charlton. To this union three daughters were born. She resided in the beautiful mountains in the Glenwood Springs area of Colorado where she raised her family. After her children were grown, she returned to her hometown of York, Nebraska.
Lori was an avid reader and also had a love of classic television shows and movies. She loved cats, antiquing, garage sales, and had a lovely collection of vintage handmade glass globes. She was a member of several bowling leagues over the years and was a long time Nebraska Cornhuskers and Denver Broncos fan. She enjoyed all things beauty and adding custom details to her and her daughter’s wardrobe. During her years in Colorado, she enjoyed annual drives to admire the beautiful fall colors, especially the first few years in her convertible. She was a loving mother and her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, and hearing all about their stories and adventures.
She will be dearly missed and cherished by her family forever.
Private family services will be held at a later date this summer at Greenwood Cemetery, York. Cremation. No viewing or visitation. Memorials may be sent to the family for later designation.
