Betty Jolene Allen, age 94, of York, NE, died Saturday, February 6, 2021 in Lincoln. She was born January 8, 1927 in Beatrice, NE to Ray C. and Marjorie C. (Andrews) Gish. She attended schools at Beatrice and Bushton, KS graduating in 1944. She was employed at the Jess Benson Insurance Agency in Wymore, NE for several years before moving to York where she worked at the York State Bank & Trust Company until her retirement in 1986.
She was united in marriage to Carl R. Allen on December 2, 1956 at the Wymore Methodist Church, Wymore, NE. After moving to York, she joined the First United Methodist Church in York. She was also a member of the York China Painters, and Chapter A P.E.O.
She is survived by her brother Larry Gish (Beverly) of Dorchester, NE, and her sister-in-law Betty Gish of Geneva, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister LaVeta, brother James, sisters-in-law Donna Allen and Marcy Gish, brother-in-law Harry L. Miller.
Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday February 11, 2021 with the family greeting friends between the hours of 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at the mortuary in York. COVID 19 funeral guidelines will be implemented with masks required. Private family interment will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, Lincoln, NE.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
