John B. Buller
John B Buller was born on October 10, 1924 at home in rural York County Nebraska. He passed from this world into Heaven on May 8, 2007 in Life Care Hospital, McAllen, Texas following heart valve replacement and bypass surgery.
John was born the oldest child of Benjamin P and Anna (Regier) Buller. He was a lifelong resident of York County Nebraska, growing up farming with his father. He proudly graduated from McCool Junction High School in 1943. He married Susie R Janzen on March 17, 1946 at Springfield Church Lehigh, Kansas.
Dad and Mom wintered in Donna, Texas for the last 27 years. Dad fell in love with the area following an MDS trip to the area. He enjoyed shuffleboard, pool and the activity there in the Rio Grande Valley. Dad loved to travel, when at home in Henderson, they often traveled to visit friends and relatives visiting 50 states (he drove to all 49 continental states). An accomplishment he was proud of. He was active in church in Henderson and Texas. He had ushered, participated in Men's Choir, in Brotherhood, and the Canner. Dad also enjoyed working with MDS, working in Texas; Mississippi; Mobile, Alabama; Thompson Canyon, Colorado, and Grand Island, Nebraska to name just a few. Dad and Mom did Volunteer Work in Wichita, Kansas; Akron, Pennsylvania; and at an orphanage in South Texas. Dad most recently volunteered serving lunches at Heartland School in Henderson and serving meals on wheels. He enjoyed helping and serving others.
Dad always prided himself on taking care of himself and his family, providing well for all of us. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Susie of Henderson, children Paul (and Linda) Buller of Wichita. John Larry Buller of Lincoln, Lois (and Larry) Roberts of Aurora, Rachel (and John) Crumly of Hartington, and Nancy (and Jay) Wren of Grand Island. His grandchildren (11) include Marci (and Todd) Ochsner of Kearney; Tim (and Rachel) Buller of Newton, Kansas; Tom (and Jennifer) Buller of Lawrence, Kansas; Lindsey (and Chris) Blevins of Westfield, Indiana; Dennis Roberts of Hastings; Elizabeth (and Bob) Bradley of Bellevue; Preston Crumly of Hartington; David Roberts of Aurora; Jared Crumly of Hartington; Robert John (RJ) Wren of Grand Island; and Susanna Joy Wren of Grand Island. Great grandchildren numbering 6, include Darianne and Andrew Ochsner; Daniel, Daisy and Lucy Buller; and Benjamin Buller.
Surviving family also include sisters: Elsie Block of York; Olga Kliewer of Henderson; Frieda Noel of Boise, Idaho; Irene (and Abe) Block of Henderson; and brother, Abe (and Alice) Buller of Henderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin P and Anna (Regier) Buller, Brother Benjamin (Benny) Buller, Brothers in law: Ben Kliewer, John Block, and Duane Noel. He is survived by many relatives and friends in the Henderson area, Texas and throughout the United States.
Funeral services were at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson, Nebraska. Burial was in the Southeast Mennonite Cemetery. Memorials designated to MDS, and MCC.
