Jesse Rust Jr.
Jesse Claude Rust Jr., age 91, of York, NE, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at York. He was born January 27, 1927 in rural York County to Jesse Claude Rust Sr. and Esther Leticia (Hiatt) Rust. He attended country school in York County and graduated from York High School in 1944. He farmed in the early part of his life, and later worked for the York Public Schools until his retirement. Jesse enjoyed target shooting and was a firearms enthusiast.
On March 10, 1949 he was married to Betty Morris. To this union six children were born.
Survivors include his daughters Teresa (Lyle) Jensen of Aurora, NE., Nancy (Dale) Wilson of Lincoln, NE., Lou Ann Gewecke of Grand Island, NE., Patricia (D.C.) Simpson of Alvin, TX., Jane Rust of Grand Island, NE., and son Roger (Geraldine) Rust of Polk, NE., several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Dale, sisters Alice, Dorothy, Lois, Mary and Delma, and grandson Todd.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am, Monday, August 6, 2018 at Metz Chapel, York. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, York. Visitation will be held at the mortuary from 1-8 pm Sunday, August 5, with his family greeting friends from 6-8 pm. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
