Inez E. Hiebner

Inez E. Hiebner, age 90 of Henderson, NE died on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Henderson. She was born on May 17, 1932 to William and Anna (Epp) Peters at rural Henderson. On April 16, 1954, she was united in marriage to Albert “Slim” Hiebner at Henderson.

Inez was a member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church, where she was involved in Women in Missions. She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, crocheting and embroidering. She liked volunteering at the Mennonite Heritage Park, and at the local nursing home. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with them.

She is survived by her sons Bruce (Susan) Hiebner and Lowell (Susanne) Hiebner, all of Henderson, daughters Janeane (Greg) Devenney of Edwardsburg, MI and Jerrilyn (Brian) Janzen of Henderson; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers  Leroy (Geraldine) Peters of Henderson and Harlan (Roine) Peters of Clearwater, FL and sisters Lucille Gering of South Bend, IN and Marlene Peters of Henderson, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother-in-law William Gering.

Graveside services will be held at 1:15 pm, Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Bethesda Cemetery northeast of Henderson. Memorial services will follow at 2:00 pm at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. Visitation will be held from 1-9pm on Tuesday, with her family greeting friends from 7-9pm that evening at the mortuary in Henderson. Memorials may be directed to MCC, Henderson Healthcare Services, or to Mennonite Heritage Park.
