Helen M. Baker age 79 of York, NE died Saturday, February 4, 2006 at York. She was born March 18, 1926 at Hoehne, Co to Mariano and Aurelia Meastas and graduated from the Parks Business College at Denver, Co.
Helen was a longtime grocery clerk having been employed at various grocery stores throughout California and Denver. For the past eight years she made her home in York. Prior to that time she lived and worked in Rowland Heights, California for 45 years. Helen was a dedicated Bingo player, enjoyed playing cards and being with her great grandsons. She also loved being at the casinos. In 1943 she was married to Arthur Baker at Denver, Co.
She is survived by one son Ernie Pappas of Bullhead City, AZ. And one daughter Sandy and hr husband Robert Kutz of Henderson, NE. One grandson Dr. Jonathan Baker of Santa Monica, CA. three granddaughters Crystal and her husband Todd Zerbel of Ontario, CA. Jessica Pappas and Amy Pappas both of Tucson, AZ. Two great grandsons Wayland Zerbel and Wyatt Zerbel both of Ontario, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and three sisters.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later time in California. There will be no viewing or visitation as her body was cremated.
