George L. Peek age 80 of Seward, Nebraska formerly of McCool Junction, NE and Garfield, Arkansas, died Friday, August 15, 2014 at Lincoln, Nebraska.
He was born August 15, 1934 at Ida Grove, IA to Blondie and Lucile (Bond) Peek. George worked in the construction industry most of his career. He drove a school bus for McCool Jct Public Schools and then a truck for Standard Oil in Fairmont and Phillips 66 in Geneva.
He loved gardening, woodworking, hunting with his sons and grandsons and never turned down a card game.
On October 27, 1962 he was married to Virginia Ann McFadden in Omaha, NE.
He is survived by his wife Virginia of Seward, NE, son Don (Laurie) Peek of Seward, his daughter Margaret (Ken) Cool of Geneva and son Jim (Michelle) Peek of Wood River, NE. His grandchildren include Sarah Peek, Rebekah Peek, Amanda Adler, Madison Peek, Alex Peek and Jared Peek. Also surviving is his great granddaughter Macie Borrell, nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charles and Richard.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Metz Chapel in York. Private family inurnment will be held prior to services. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be directed to the family for Cancer research.
