Freda May Shockey
Freda May Shockey, age 86 of Bradshaw, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Osceola.
She was born, the youngest of five children on Nov. 11, 1929 in York County to Fred and Frances (Bittinger) Shockey. Freda attended country school in District #36, also known at Durant School through 8th grade. She then attended and graduated from Stromsburg High School in 1949. Following high school, she returned home to care for her parents. Freda loved being outdoors and enjoyed working in her garden.
Freda is survived by her sister, Frances Tonniges of Stromsburg; nieces, Cheryl (Dwight) Blasé of Grand Island, Josie (Doug) Crowdell of Benedict and Janet (Mark) Dostal of Columbus; nephews, Clyde (Barb) Kennel of Polk, David (Shelly) Kennel of Polk, Duane Tonniges of Polk, Daryl Tonniges of Bradshaw and Brian (Kim) Tonniges of York.
Preceding her in death were her parents; infant brother; brother, Fred David Shockey; sister, Florence Kennel and nephew, Allen Tonniges.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Arborville Congregational Church south of Polk. Inurnment will be in the Arborville Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
