Erwin Reicheneker
Erwin Alfred Reicheneker, age 87, of York, died Sunday, April 15, 2018 at York.
He was born June 26, 1930 in Elm Creek, NE to John G. and Julia (Jelinik) Reicheneker. On June 30, 1951 he was married to Dixie Grotfeld at Kearney, NE. Erwin served his country in the United States Army National Guard for 27 years. He was also a member of the East Hill Church of Christ in York where he worked after his retirement from Nebraska Public Power in York. He enjoyed watching purple Martins, working on cars and was a world traveler.
Erwin is survived by his daughters Linda (David) Scott of Arlington, TX and Brenda Reicheneker of York. His son Alan Reicheneker of Tuscola, TX. Foster son Phan Van Thi, and foster daughter Nancy Phan of York; brothers Eugene and Johnny (Carol) Reicheneker, both of Kearney, NE, and sister-in-law Ann Reicheneker of North Platte, NE.
Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, his brother Kenneth, sister-in-law Lois, and 2 nephews.
Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2018 at the York College Prayer Chapel with Glen Hawley officiating. Private family inurnment will take place in Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, NE at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Yellowstone Bible Camps or to the Nebraska Youth Camp.
