Erma Virdina "Dea" Maggart
Erma Virdina “Dea” Maggart, age 92 of York, NE died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at York. She was born September 27, 1921 to John and Luella (Fales) Moninger at rural Ferguson, NE. In January of 1942, Dea was united in marriage to Donald L. Maggart at Los Angeles, CA.
Dea had worked at Epworth Village and Deluxe Cleaners. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in York and a member of the York American Legion Auxillary. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and gardening.
She is survived by her children: Donn David (Laura) Maggart of Ocoee, FL, David Maggart of Phoenix, AZ, and Donna (Merle) Ehlers of York; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Everett (Arlene) Moninger of Merna, NE; two sisters, Evelyn Olsen of Merna, NE and Jane Killion of Big Springs, NE; and sister-in-law, Velma Moore of Los Angeles. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Richard, five brothers and two sisters.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, May 29, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church in York with the Reverend Mike Eickhoff officiating. Inurnment will be in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. There will be no viewing or visitation as Dea has been cremated. Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church local mission.
