EdNida Rerucha

EdNida B. Rerucha, age 80, of Waco, NE died Thursday, February 28, 2019 at York. She was born April 2, 1938 in Washington County, Kansas to Bert and Lela (Bledsoe) Cook. She was united in marriage to Vern “Pete” Werner September 1, 1956 in Greenleaf, KS. To this union four children were born. Dwight David, Mark Alan, Amy Leah, and Aaron Lynn.

In 1972 the family moved to Waco, NE. In 1982 she and Pete were divorced. In September 2008 Nida was married to her longtime beloved friend James “Baldy” Rerucha. Jim passed away on January 29, 2009. Nida continued to live in Waco after Jim’s passing. Nida worked as a school cook in the Waco area.

She is survived by her sons Dwight (Denice) Werner of Sidney, NE, Mark Werner, Aaron (Christina) Werner all of Waco, daughter Amy Werner of York, step-daughter Barb Rerucha of David City, step-sons, Dave Rerucha of Florida, and Rick Rerucha of David City. Grandchildren include: Courtney, Tonya, Megan, Randi, Bobbi, Bret, Zach, and Heather. Great-Grandchildren include: Daniel, Jarren, Lilly, Audrey, Dezzarae, Shay, Brigham, Jorja, Gracie, Nathaniel, Robert, Grayson, Kristianna, Savanna, and Nolan.  

She is also survived by her brother Phil (Delpha) Cook of Green, KS, sisters Rose Elliott of Abilene, KS, Lily (George) Warburton, of Concordia, KS, and Peggie Stufflebean, of Kearney, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, ex-husband, great-grandsons Conner and Tyrston, six brothers and three sisters.

Private family inurnment will take place at a later date in the Maplewood Cemetery, Barnes, KS. There will be no viewing or visitation as it was EdNida’s wish to be cremated; however, her family will greet friends Wednesday from 6:00 – 7:30 PM at the mortuary in York. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
