Doris 'Dodo' Miller
Doris D. “Dodo” Miller, age 84, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015 in Lincoln.
She was born April 23, 1930 at Champion to James and Violet (Sandall) Smith. Doris and Kenneth Miller were united in marriage on Sept. 3, 1950 in York. The couple farmed and raised their two daughters, Paula and Terri, on a farm east of Benedict.
Doris sold real estate for 20 years as well. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Benedict, Pitch & Chatter and the “Benedict Beauties.” Doris was active in church and school activities and volunteered with the Benedict Voice.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Paula Miller of Overland Park, Kan. and Terri (Howard) Ragsdale of Parker, Colo.; two grandchildren, Chad Lehr of Lincoln and Angie (Scott) Soucie of Parker; step-grandchildren, Brian Ragsdale of San Diego, Calif. and Melissa (Joe) Karrer of Lexington, Ky.; great-grandchildren, Tausha, Brittni, Ashlee, Jacob and Blake. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at the Metz Chapel in York with Pastor Bud Christenson officiating. Interment will be in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association. Visitation will be Friday from 5-9 p.m. at the mortuary.
