Delbert E. Apetz
Delbert E. Apetz, age 81, of York, died Saturday, September 24, 2005 in Lincoln. He was born September 30, 1923 at Waco, NE to Carl A. and Clara M. (Wellman) Apetz. Delbert married Leona Beth Zech at Belleville, KS on January 26, 1946. He served in the US Army from 1946-4 7 and was a member of the American Legion. Delbert was a longtime carpenter, bricklayer and concrete worker. He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church at York.
He is survived by his wife Leona of York; his 2 sons, David (Kristin) Apetz of Gretna, NE and Jerry (Dixie) Apetz of York; grandchildren, Cheri (Jeff) Rychly of Omaha, Wendy Apetz of Tyler, TX, Amy (Earl) Wright of Omaha and Adam Apetz of Hastings; great-grandchild Paige Wright of Omaha; step-grandchildren, Hannah and Chase Newcomer of Gretna and Jonathan Kieffer of Omaha; 2 brothers, Alvin (Luella) Apetz and Lee (Wanda) Apetz all of York; 2 sisters, Mildred Thratt of Texas and Darleen Senff of York; nieces & nephews and a host of friends. Delbert loved his grandchildren and enjoyed playing games with them. Delbert was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Marvin Senff.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 am at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. Military graveside services will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery at York. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 9-9 at Metz. Memorials may be directed to the church.
