Deann Tonniges
Deann F. Tonniges, age 63 of York, NE, died Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at York. She was born on May 24, 1955 to LeRoy and Geraldine (Janzen) Peters at Henderson, NE. Deann worked as a Registered Nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, was the former director of the First SurgiCenter in Kearney, and was currently employed at Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg, NE. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, and loved music.
Deann is survived by her son Ryan Tonniges of Kearney, daughter Megan (Charlie) Wesche of Lincoln, NE, grandchildren Cameron, Braden, and Corinne Wesche of Lincoln, parents LeRoy and Geraldine Peters of Henderson, sister Jeanette (Jim) Friesen of Henderson, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Graveside services will be held at 9:45 AM, Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Bethesda Cemetery, Henderson. A memorial service will follow the graveside service at 10:30 AM at Bethesda Mennonite Church, Henderson with the Reverends Seth Miller and Keith Ghormley officiating. Visitation will be held between 1:00 – 9:00 PM Monday, May 13, with the family greeting friends between 7:00 – 8:30 PM that same evening at the mortuary in Henderson. Memorials may be directed to Midwest Covenant Home or Henderson Care Center.
