Darlene E. Chrisman age 84 of York, NE died Friday, December 28, 2012 at Fairmont, NE. She was born March 12, 1928 in rural Seward County to Alvin and Elsie (Pohlman) Klemsz. Darlene was a graduate of York High School. She was a telephone operator before she became a farmwife and homemaker. On December 25, 1949 she was united in marriage to Arnold Chrisman at Waco, NE. Darlene enjoyed her family, baking, sewing, and making rugs on her loom.
She is survived by four sons: Alan (Marla) Chrisman of McCool Jct., NE, their children, Chad Chrisman, wife Dana, their children, Kelsey, Kaylee, and Jarren; Nicole, husband Mike Windle, their children Hannah and MaKayla Windle; Trent Chrisman, wife Andrea, their children Jace, Mya and Jaiden; and Cody Chrisman, wife Niki.
Rick (Gayle) Chrisman of York, their children, Travis Chrisman, wife Kelli; and Josh Chrisman; Joerg Schreiber, wife Jaga, their children Lilia and Klara from Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Terry (Kathy) Chrisman of McCool Jct., their children, Dustin, wife Paige, their daughter Arianna; Danielle Chrisman; Colton Chrisman and special friend Whitney Lauber; Chase Chrisman and special friend Taylor Janzen; and Chance Chrisman.
Kent (Diane) Chrisman of York, their children, Michelle, husband Brandon Wardyn, their children, Kali, Harley, and Avery; Kahla Chrisman; and Creighton Chrisman.
Also surviving are sisters-in-law: Mildred Klemsz of York and Iris Pugh of Bradshaw, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Omar and Vern, brother-in-law, Jack Pugh Sr., one nephew and two nieces.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York with the Reverend Mike Neidow officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, York. Visitation will be held from 5pm-9pm Tuesday, 9 am-9pm Wednesday with family greeting friends from 7-8:30 pm Wednesday evening at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the church or to the family for later designation.
