Clara Thieszen

Clara (Huebert) Thieszen was born to Henry P. and Mary Klassen Huebert on Jan. 20, 1922, in her parental home northwest of Henderson.

She passed away at the Henderson Care Center on Jan. 3, 2015 at the age of 92.

Upon her confession of faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, Clara was baptized May 12, 1940 and was received as a member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church and remained a life long member until her death.

On Feb. 26, 1941, Clara and Daniel P. Thieszen exchanged marriage vows at her family home. They were blessed with 61 years together. Five children were born to this union.

Survivors include daughter, Verlene (Don) Sebes of Hanston, Kan.; sons, Elmer (Donna) Thieszen, Leroy (Jo) Thieszen, Dennis (Diane) Thieszen and Larry Thieszen, all of Henderson; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; sister, Elsie Epp of Henderson and sister-in-law, Marie Thieszen of Henderson.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Daniel; grandson, Lynn Huebert; sister-in-law Eva (Albert) Friesen; brother-in-law, Arlie E. Friesen, Willard Epp and Abe (Margaret) Thieszen.

Committal services will be held at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at Metz Mortuary in Henderson with burial at Bethesda Cemetery following committal services. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. Public visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 – 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Family will greet friends Wednesday evening at the mortuary from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Bethesda Radio Fund or the MCC Canner Project.  ​
