Bill Benton
Bill Gene Benton, formally of London, AR, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022 in York, NE. He was born in Muskogee OK on June 28, 1934, son of the late Delbert Benton and the late Virgie Benton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother James Benton and sister Betty Jo Butler.
Bill loved his time in his wood shop, panning for gold in Colorado, and being in God’s nature. But none of these loves superseded his love for God and his savior. He believed faith without works was meaningless and was eager to help those in need. Bill was a patriot who served in the US Army and had a sincere appreciation of all of our founding fathers and the constitution.
His surviving relatives include his loving wife of 63 years Barbara Benton, his sister Roberta Mitchell, daughter Brenda Carver and husband Ted, daughter Becky Carter and husband Jim, son Mark Benton and wife Melody and eight grand children and nine great grand children.
Private family memorial services will be held in York at a later date. Bill has been cremated so there will be no viewing or visitation.
