Betty Haack
Betty Jean Haack entered into eternal rest on February 23, 2018 aged 81 years, 10 months and 13 days.
She was born in Guntersville, Alabama on April 10, 1936 to Arnold King Mitchell and Flora Bell (Austin) Mitchell and was baptized into the Christian faith in Albertville, Alabama in 1948. Betty married Marvin Haack on April 24, 1954 in Anderson, Indiana then moved back to the York area where they farmed and raised their family. She was confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York on May 29, 1955. Betty loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, attending their many various activities.
She also enjoyed teaching ceramic classes, crocheting, and gardening as well as spending time with her friends and her husband Marvin. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Flora, her brothers: Leon, Don, James, Lloyd, Floyd, Jim and Danny Joe, her sister Artie Mae, and her grandchildren Denton Blum, Brian Blum, Tara Jean Snodgrass and Jason Haack.
Betty is survived by her husband Marvin of the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg, daughters: Judy (David) Blum and Donna (David) Snodgrass, sons Michael (Anita) Haack and Alan (Valerie) Haack, grandchildren include: Nicholas (Melissa) Haack, Justin (Samantha) Haack, Jessica (Dustin) Noble, Cody Blum, Clay Blum, Stacey (Brian) Swanson, Marvin Lee Snodgrass, Amanda Haack and Allison Haack, and great grandchildren Riley Haack, Eldon Haack, Isaac Haack, Kayde Haack, Olivia Haack, Augustus Haack, Lexi Haack and Audrey Cheek-Snodgrass. She is also survived by her brother Bob (Doris) Mitchell and her sister Tula Mae Carpenter.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, York. Visitation will be held from 1-8:00 p.m., Wednesday with her family greeting friends from 6-8:00 p.m. that same evening at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
