Florence Young

Florence “Flossie” Nolan Wilson Young age 86 of Waco, NE died Friday, February 16, 2007 at Lincoln. She was born November 27, 1920 at Lushton, NE to Richard and Mary (Schallemberg) Nolan. She was a graduate of McCool Jct. High School and was united in marriage to Leslie “Bud” H. Wilson on May 13, 1943 at Hastings, NE. Leslie passed away in 1974 and Flossie then married Albert Young on February 14, 1975 at Waco, NE. She was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waco where she enjoyed quilting and Ladies Aid. She also enjoyed reading, sewing and gardening.

She is survived by two sons, Leslie Wilson and his wife Dolly of York and Steve Wilson and his wife Barb of York; three daughters, Beverly and her husband Eldon Eklund of York, Linda and her husband Gerald Sharon of Dennison, IA, Mary Wilson of Waco; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother Dick Nolan and his wife Kathy of York. Preceding her in death were her parents, both husbands and one sister Gladys.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Waco with the Reverend Paul T. Kern officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in York. Memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
