Darrel Wolstenholm

Darrel E. Wolstenholm age 83 of Westminster, CO, formerly of Lincoln, NE died Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Westminster. Darrel was born December 27, 1923 on a farm west and south of McCool Junction. The family later moved to the Barr farm one mile east and a half-mile south of McCool Junction. At that time Darrel attended school in District #19. In 1936, the family moved to York, Nebraska where he attended North Ward School. Darrel attended York High School graduating with the class of 1942. After high school, he helped out on the family farm. In 1955, Darrel moved to Lincoln where he started working for Goodwill Industries. He worked there for 25 years. In 1970, Darrel’s parents, Harry and Clarice Wolstenholm moved to Lincoln and he went to live with them. After his parents passed away, Darrel lived for several years at Mahoney Manor in Lincoln before going to live in Colorado. He lived at Sunrise Assisted Living in Westminster, Colorado for two years before moving to Clear Creek Care Center where he lived until he passed away on March 4, 2007 at the age of 83.

Darrel is survived by one sister, Verla Smith of Northglenn, CO, three nieces and three nephews, fourteen grandnieces and grandnephews, and one great grandnephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Twila Birdwell.

Funeral services were Saturday, March 10, 2007 at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend David Kersting officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery at York. Memorials may be directed to the family.
