Donald Wingfield
Donald W. Wingfield age 91 of Stromsburg, NE died Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Stromsburg.
He was born August 25, 1919 at Fargo, N.D. to Henry “Ted” and Beta C. (Monson) Wingfield. A World War II Veteran he was a longtime machinist at Boeing Aircraft Co for over 35 years. Don enjoyed helping others with various projects and could fix almost anything. He was a member of the Boeing Retiree’s Club and enjoyed spending time with his family.
On October 7, 1960 he was married to Clare I Lauerman at Seattle, WA.
He is survived by his wife Clare of Stromsburg, NE, sons; Dean Wingfield of Seattle, WA, Ron Wingfield of Tukwila, WA and Bill and his wife Linda Stanley of Tukwila, WA. His daughters include Linda and her husband Frank Jamali of LaHainia, HA and Donna Wingfield of San Leandro, CA.
Grandchildren include Mark Jamali of Santa Barbara, CA, Todd Stanley of Tukwilla, WA and Melissa Stanley and her husband Rob McMonigle of Federal Way, WA.
His Great grandchildren include Connor McMonigle, Riley McMonigle and Piper McMonigle all of Federal Way, WA.
Also surviving are his sisters; Arleen and her husband Bob Nielsen of Bannockburn, ILL, Shirley and her husband Robert Grodek of North Olmsted, OH, Renee Scherling of Medford, OR and Marilyn Rategan of Deerfield, ILL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one daughter, four brothers and a sister.
A Memorial service was held at 2:00 pm Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the Metz Chapel in York with inurnment in St Joseph’s Cemetery following services. Memorials may be to the donor’s choice.
