Jeannette Windhorst

Jeannette L. Windhorst age 69 of York, NE died Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at York. She was born December 2, 1937 to Paul V. and Ella K. (Sieker) Kopcho at York where she lived all her life. She attended and graduated from York High School in 1955. Jeannette was married to Darrell Windhorst in York on September 4, 1960. To this union three daughters were born, Brenda, Shelly and Amy. She was an active member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York where she taught Sunday School and served in various circles. She was a former secretary at the Hearthstone, Romans, Wiemer & Schultz, Blue Valley Mental Health and along with her husband owned and operated York T.V. Service. Most of all, Jeannette valued simplicity and chose to live the biggest share of her life as a homemaker, always appreciative of her family. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed sewing for her daughters as they were growing up. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Brenda and her husband Ken Clark of Benedict, NE, Shelly and her husband Clark Gruber of Waco, NE and Amy and her husband Gregg Haberman of Utica;. four grandsons, Dalton and Trevor Clark of Benedict, Heath & Lance Haberman of Utica; one granddaughter, Courtney Gruber of Waco; one sister-in-law, Rosie Kopcho of York; many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, Paul and Ella Kopcho and brother Lee Kopcho.

Services were Friday, October 12, 2007 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York with the Reverend Tim Marshall officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in York. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
