William Wietzke

William Henry Wietzke was born November 4, 1926 in Shickley, NE to Pastor William and Almina (Everts) Wietzke. He graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI in 1951. He served as pastor at Wisconsin Synod Lutheran churches in Omaha, NE, Denver CO, Honolulu, HI, and Evanston, IL. After his retirement in 1991 he lived in Montrose, CO and then in York. He died in York on Sunday, September 6, 2009.

He is survived by his brother Wilfred (Charlotte) Wietzke of York, nephews: Thomas (Julie) Wietzke of Milwaukee, WI and David (Mary) Wietzke of Grand Island, NE.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Bethel Lutheran Church in York with Pastor Mark Haefner officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials in care of the family.
