Minnie Wholstenholm
Minnie Wholstenholm, age 100 of York, died Sunday March 5, 2006 at York. She was born January 20, 1906 in Fillmore County, Nebraska to Henry and Emma (Struckman) Pfingston. She graduated from Tobias High School in 1923 and then attended the University of Nebraska to prepare for a teaching degree. Minnie was a teacher for the Exeter Public School System for 25 years.
On January 16, 1942 she married Felix Wholstenholm of Exeter, Nebraska. He died in December of 1983.
She held membership with the First United Methodist Church of York, the Eastern Star Grace Chapter, the United Methodist Women, the York Area Retired Teachers Association, and York Senior Citizens
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, and one sister. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services were Thursday, March 9, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church in York with the Reverend Art Phillips officiating. Minnie has bequeathed her body to the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Her remains will be interred at Exeter Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church of York.
