Jean Whitemore

Jean E. Whitemore, age 88, of McCool Jct., NE, died Friday, February 25, 2011 at York, NE. She was born on February 13, 1923 at Fairmont, NE to Zadok and Eva Della (Sweet) Stephenson. Jean was married to Frank W. Whitemore on August 3, 1946 at Fairmont. The union was blessed with two children, Sandy and Steve. Jean was a member of the First Lutheran Church in McCool Jct. She also belonged to the quilter’s group at First Lutheran.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandy (Al) Blankenship of Waverly, NE; son, Steve Whitemore of Lincoln, NE; grandsons, Erich (Kim) Whitemore of Fremont, NE, Cory Whitemore of Lincoln, and Nathan Blankenship of West Point, NE; granddaughters, Kris (Wes) Hunzeker of North Platte, NE, Michelle (Bony) Looky of Lincoln.

Jean is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Halla and Edem Looky of Lincoln; brother, John (Mary) Stephenson of York; sister-in-law, Isabelle Whitemore of Fairmont; nieces and nephews. Proceeding her in death were her parents; husband; brothers, Leslie and Bob Stephenson; sister, Darlene Hafer; and grandson, Tim Blankenship.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February, 28, 2011 at the First Lutheran Church, McCool Jct., NE. Burial was in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, McCool Jct. Memorials may be directed to the First Lutheran Church in McCool Jct., or the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery Association.
