Sylvia Werth
Sylvia L. Werth age 96 of York, Nebraska died Monday, February 14, 2005 at York.
She was born July 2, 1908 in rural York County to William J.F. and Ida (VonHausen) Collett and was formerly a member of Zion Lutheran Church near Hampton. Currently she was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York and the LWML as well. Sylvia had a lifelong love of music and enjoyed playing the piano. She also loved gardening and working in her flower beds. On April 15, 1928 she was married to Arnold Werth at Hampton.
She is survived by one son Donley and his wife Dorothy Werth of Ocean Springs, Mississippi and a daughter Lois and her husband Howard Mapel of York; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 5 step-great grandchildren and 5 step great-great-grandchildren Also surviving is a sister-in-law Julia Ann Collett of Hampton and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters, Viola Stuhr, Lucille Driewer and Frances Smith, and her brother William W. Collett.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 19, 2005 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York with the Reverend Tim Marshall officiating. Graveside services will then be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday in the Zion Cemetery north of Hampton. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Emmanuel Lutheran Church.Visitation begins 5:00 p.m. Thursday.
