Norma Weldon

Norma M. Weldon age 80 of York, NE died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at York. She was born on May 24, 1926 in Walbach, Nebraska to Niels and Delia (Folger) Christensen. She was baptized at the Church of the Nazarene in York. She attended school in Fullerton, NE and was united in marriage to Arthur E. Weldon on June 8, 1946 in Belleville, KS. To this union three children were born, Jack, Linda and Art. In her younger days Norma helped her parents on the family farm and also worked at a restaurant in Fullerton for many years. She later worked at the York Cold Storage in the Egg Plant. Her job was breaking eggs and she always said “Man, I broke a lot of eggs.” Norma raised her family in Housten, NE and later moved to Gresham, NE where she resided until she moved to the Hearthstone in York three years ago. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, crocheting, playing pitch and bingo. She enjoyed life to the fullest. Norma had very special friends at the Hearthstone and the Tabitha Hospice staff which were wonderful and a godsend for her.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons Jack Weldon and his wife Donna of York and Art Weldon and his wife Nancy of Ozark, MO; daughter Linda Kramer of Ozark, MO; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Arthur, two brothers, one sister and one great-grandson.

Funeral services were held May 25, 2007 at the Metz Chapel in York. Burial followed at the Greenwood Cemetery in York. Memorials may be directed to the family.
