Edna Weldon

Edna L. Weldon, age 58 of York, NE, died Monday, July 14, 2008 at York. She was born on August 3, 1949 at York to Howard and Ellen (Perkins) Gnauden. She was united in marriage to John H. Weldon III in Hebron, NE on August 30, 1963. They would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary this year. Edna worked at several jobs over the years including, the York Sale Barn, Bailey’s Auction, the Let’s Go Inn, and the York State Bank. She attended the Baptist Congregational Federated Church in York and enjoyed Bingo, fishing, camping, softball and crafts. Edna was a kind and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband Johnny; two sons: Johnny IV “Skeeter” (Twila) Weldon of St. Libory, NE and Edward Weldon of Bradshaw, NE; one brother, Howard “Tom” (Joan) Gnauden of Morgan Hill, CA; two sisters: Dorthy (Jim) Jose of York and Barb (Clyde) Kennel of Polk, NE. Edna is also survived by four grandsons: Johnny V, Jesse and Joel Weldon all of St. Libory and Cole Weldon of York. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Elmer, and infant sister Mary Belle.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the Baptist Congregational Federated Church in York. Burial followed at the Plainfield Cemetery, Bradshaw, NE. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
