Betty Warren

Betty Warren age 77 of Bradshaw, NE died Friday, July 27, 2007 at Exeter. She was born February 3, 1930 near Utica to Arley R. and Teresa. (Seamands) Underwood. Betty was employed by York General Hospital and the Hearthstone for over 23 years and also helped her husband at the Benedict High School as a custodian. She was a member of the Bradshaw United Methodist Church receiving her 50-year certificate in 1994. She collected dolls, enjoyed going to figure eight races and was an avid card player. Betty and Merle raised their grandson Kevin after the death of his mother. On September 2, 1948 she was married to Merle Warren at McCool Jct, NE.

She is survived by her husband Merle of Bradshaw, one son Gary and his wife Darlene Warren of Fairmont, four daughters, Karen and her husband Robert Sjoberg of Tulsa, OK, Linda and her husband Alex Lekai III of Denton, NE, Lori and her husband Jerry Wize of York and Kimberly and her husband Craig Wize also of York. Grandchildren include, Kenny Nelson of Fairmont, Nicole and her husband Adam Peters of York, Alex Lekai IV of Lincoln, Mary Lekai of Dorchester, Michael and his wife Kitty Wize of Gretna, Christopher Wize and his friend Amanda Thonen of York, Great Granddaughters include, Amanda Nelson and Tes Nelson both of Harvard, NE Nevaeh Peters and Bryanna Peters both of York, Also surviving are two brothers, Arley JR and his wife Judy Underwood of York and Doug and his wife Lois Underwood of Colorado. Four sisters, Dorothy and her husband Max Rogers of Minnesota, Wanda Sullivan of York, Meg Underwood of Lincoln and Frances and her husband Dean Thieszen of Colorado. Many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Kathleen, a stillborn daughter Doris June and one brother Marvin Underwood.

Funeral services were Monday, July 30, 2007 at the Bradshaw United Methodist Church with the Reverend Art Philips officiating. Memorials can be sent to the Bradshaw Volunteer Fire Department or to the American Kidney Foundation. Private family inurnment services in the Waco Cemetery.
