Howard Warner
Howard W. Warner, age 84, of York, NE, died Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Henderson, NE. He was born January 24, 1926 at rural Exeter, NE to Pearl and Laura (McCullough) Warner. Following graduation from Albion High School in 1944, Howard joined the US Army and served during WWII in the So. Pacific Theatre. On April 4, 1957, Howard and Roberta Howser were married at Central City, NE. He farmed in the Boone and York County areas for many years before working for the York County Department of Roads for eight years. Howard was a member of the Bradshaw United Methodist Church, Bradshaw VFW#1450, and the American Legion Bolton Post. Howard cherished his children and grandchildren and always looked forward to family get-togethers.
He is survived by his wife Roberta of York; children R. Jean (Gordon) Jumper of Jacksonville, IL, Howard Keith (Lisa) Warner of Bechtelsville, PA, Anita (Michael) Haack of Osceola, NE, Kelly (Coleen) Warner of Lincoln, NE, Virginia Beam of Walterboro, SC, Victoria (Larry) Jones of Hastings, NE, and Michael Warner and partner Cindy Sullivan of Salisbury, NC. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, 10 siblings, and grandson, Jason Howard Haack.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Bradshaw, NE with the Reverend Mary Scott officiating. Military graveside services will be in the Plainfield Cemetery, west of Bradshaw. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m., Monday at the mortuary with the family greeting friends, that evening from 5-7 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
