Rose M. Walsh

Rose M. Walsh, age 80 of York, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at York. She was born May 19, 1923 at Lomax, NE to A. Laurence and Lauretta (Neville) Conroy. She was married to George A. Walsh at York on April 15, 1952. Rose was a Registered Nurse, having graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing at Grand Island and spent her entire career at the York General Hospital. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York, the Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters.

Rose is survived by her son Steve (Betty) Walsh of Omaha, 2 daughters, Marilyn Hilfiker of Denver and Jacqueline (Don) Huldt of Grand Island. Twenty grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers; James (Grace) Conroy of Lincoln and John (Gladys) Conroy and Paul (Bette) Conroy all of Oconto, NE and one sister, Elizabeth Conroy of York. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, son Dennis, daughter Barbara and brothers Louis & Laurence.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 8, 2004 at 10:00 am at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at York with the Rev. Leo Seiker officiating. Burial was in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the St. Joseph’s Building Fund or the donor’s favorite charity.
