Delores Tracy

Delores “Dee” M. Tracy age 83 of York, NE died Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Lincoln, NE. She was born March 26, 1927 at Stromsburg, NE to Ludwig and Elsie (Anderson) Widga and graduated from York High School in 1944. On September 4, 1946 she was married to Herbert R. Tracy at San Francisco, CA. Dee was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in York, a 50 year member of the Lamplighters Extension Club, the York American Legion Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels, P.E.O Chapter A and was Past President of United Methodist Women. Dee also served on the York County Election Board, volunteered with the Red Cross Blood Drive and was a longtime member of the York General Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed serving with the York Extension Club and was a lifetime member of the York P.T.A.

She is survived by two sons; Mike and his wife Lais Tracy of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Bruce and his wife Margaret Tracy of York. A daughter Jodee Just of Lincoln. Six Grandchildren, four Step Grandchildren and fourteen Great Grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Marlyce and her husband Bert Reed of York, a brother in law Jim Schneider of Simi Valley, CA. Sisters in law Esther Tracy of Parker, CO Irene Tracy of Boulder, CO and Margaret and her husband Ord Noll of Columbus, NE. Many cousins, nieces and nephews as well. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Craig, one brother and four sisters.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 am Friday, April 16, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in York with the Reverend Art Phillips officiating. Burial was in York’s Greenwood Cemetery with memorials being directed to the First United Methodist Church in York, P.E.O. Chapter A E.L.F. Fund or to the Shriner’s Hospital.
