Robert M. Thorne

Robert M. Thorne age 61 of York, NE died Friday, July 18, 2008 at York. He was born April 8, 1947 in York to Morris and Louise (Litty) Thorne and graduated from York High School in 1966. He then graduated from Kearney State College with a Business Administration degree in 1970. He went to work for Swift Meat Packing Company and also Goodyear Tire Company for 10 years as a Cost Accountant. He then moved back to York in 1988.

He is survived by his mother Louise Thorne of York, two brothers Donald E. Thorne and his wife Sharyn of Spokane, WA and David F. Thorne of York; one sister Jeanne L. and her husband Floyd Marsh of Scottsdale, AZ; two nephews: James and his wife Janelle Thorne of Boulder, CO and Thomas L Marsh of Scottsdale, AZ. He was also survived by his nieces Lisa Thorne of Spokane, Kristi Thorne of Seattle, and Teri Marsh of Scottsdale. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York with Father Mark Tasler officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. A Rosary service was held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday evening at the mortuary with memorials being directed to the family or donor’s choice.
