Betty Thomsen

Betty J. Thomsen age 81 of York, NE died Friday, March 16, 2007 at Lincoln. She was born October 1, 1925 at Parsons, KS to R.C. and Ardis (Stewart) Porter and graduated from Parsons High School. She then attended Kansas State University for several years. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in York. On September 13, 1947 she was married to Noel B Thomsen at Bentley, KS.

She is survived by her daughter Judy and her husband Jim Cunningham of Lincoln. Two grandchildren; Janelle and her husband Joe Erickson of Omaha and John and his wife Caitlin Cunningham of Ft Worth, TX. Three great grandchildren include Emily, James and Joshua Erickson all of Omaha. One brother S.W. Porter of Wichita, KS Two sister in laws, Jean Porter of Cheyenne, WY and Betty Lee Janning of Storm Lake, IA. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Robert Porter, a brother in law Rollie Thomsen and a sister in law Virginia Porter.

Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 24, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church in York with the Reverend Michael Eickhoff officiating. Private burial prior to services in Greenwood Cemetery. No visitation or viewing. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund, the First Presbyterian Church Mission Fund or to the St John’s Catholic School Endowment Fund in Lincoln.
