Frank Thomas
The Reverend Frank G. Thomas, age 91 of Henderson, died Friday, November 13, 2009 at Henderson. He was born September 25, 1918 in rural Ringwood, OK to Cornelius Jacob and Leona Rose (Kane) Thomas. Frank served in the military from 1942-1945 during WWII. He was the pastor of the EMB Church in Henderson for 11 ½ years and a nursing home administrator in Meade and Ulysses KS for 16 years. While serving his church in Henderson, he also taught school there for seven years. He was the owner/operator of the Dutch Kitchen in Henderson for 11 years as well. Frank was a member of the Faith Evangelical Bible Church in Henderson. He was active in his church and enjoyed yard work and gardening.
Frank was united in marriage to Rachel Unruh on August 17, 1941 at Montezuma, KS. To this union four children were born: Frank Devon, Ronald Neil, Grace Ann and Julie Marie.
Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Frank Thomas and his wife Jacqueline of St. Joseph, MO and Ronald Thomas and his wife Carol of Henderson; two daughters, Grace Lorenz and her husband Marty of Molino, FL and Julie Butner and her husband Mark of Marshall, MO. Frank also leaves behind nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul J. Thomas and his wife Verda Mae of Ringwood, OK; one brother-in-law Edward Fish of Omaha, NE; and one sister-in-law, Elfrieda Thomas of Lincoln, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Leo, and sister Hulda Grace Fish.
Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the FEBC Cemetery, Henderson, with memorials services following at 2:00 p.m., at the Faith Evangelical Bible Church in Henderson. Memorials may be directed to the FEBC Missionary Fund, or Henderson Health Care.
