Les Taylor

Leslie Scott Taylor, age 78, of York, NE, died Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Phoenix, AZ. He was born on February 3, 1933 in North Bend, NE. Les served his country in the Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion since 1954. Les was elected to the Nebraska Public Power District Board of directors in 1979 and served for 24 years. He was President/Chairman of the board two times during his tenor in office.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jan, of York; two daughters, Lesley (David) Langner of York and Sandra Goodman of Phoenix.; grandchildren, Maggie Langner, Jack Langner, Carley Langner, Logan Langner, Megan (Sigurd) Kristianson, Eric Goodman, Ryan Goodman and Brett Goodman. Also surviving is his sister, Lois Bradley of Oshkosh, NE; three nieces and their children. Preceding him in death were his parents, Helen E. and Leslie O. Taylor and one nephew.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church, York, NE. A private burial was held at the Fairbury Cemetery in Fairbury, NE. Memorials may be directed to the family or to the First United Methodist Church in York.
